this photo is taken during spot photography competition,

i've joined late as had to present my research during MSP

and the only time left is around 2 hours,

the skies are getting darker, my body ached from all the standings and explaining and answering

plus covered the previous event beforehand,

batts draining low, stomach getting cruels and shouting for foods, oh how i wonder i survived that day.

by the way, the theme is "Expression"

easy peasy, went snooping around for subjects and wallaa!

This bike really represents the muscle type cycle, the prototype build upon those designs used in WWII

My Indirect Mentor - Carlos Nizam

I can say that, i learnt photography thru the hard way

trial and error, broken patches here and there,

heck even when i tot i had my first *bigcamera* still it wasn't a real DSLR

it is still considered a compact macro zoom camera : Finepix Fs9500

oh yess, i still remember that one, after all its the prototype cam for me =)

tho now its broken, and i can't fix the damn thing because malaysia does not produce this model nomore.

after i had finishes A-Level in 2009, then i'm really thinking seriously to buy my own DSLR

with the money supposedly for surviving 3 month's time in India given by my sponsors,

add a little couple of bucks i managed to scratch under the rug, table, porno cds whooppss,

then its all set n go.

and yeah, that guy above, his name is carlos nizam,

now a photographer for getty images, and he does photojournalism in travel photography.

back then he's still with Ministry of Moment, a wedding group of photographer,

and thru one of his clients, my cousin's wedding, i met this jovial guy.

he's plain simple, direct kinda guy, and yeah he smokes marl's too, so that means he's my kind-o-guy.

he'd needed to unload one of his older models, the right now i'm using Nikon D80.

so yeah, he'd sell it cheap, i'd take it by heart, and wallaah!

one week later, and still owning now,

MY NIKON D80.

hohoho.

and hell yeah, i'd think the shutter counts would be like, 70K maybe by now?

basically i'd been raping the damn camera for the past one and half years ago dude hahaha.

oh my cam's a masochist, she can handle it well babe, no sweaatt.

so in a way, he can be considered my indirect mentor,

teaching me a level advanced in digital media,

how to compose, how to bring out the colors, how to be proud of ur damn pics.

right now he's having his first solo exhibition in UKM Bangi,

i'd just returned from that place, and fak yeah, the printings are AWESOME PAWESOME!

i'd try to bought one, but it cost me RM350, haha pro's price beb, can't say much about that

even that is considered cheap weyh, in his line of work the pics can be sold for about RM 4000.holycooww.

u guys can go and check his work over there, or thru his flickr here

i can say that, i'd kinda jealous of his lifestyle,

travel to places around the globe shooting helluva goddamn pics,

but hey, rezki org beb, apa nk dikata hahaha.

all i can say is

The new software really got my attention, capable of rendering color, lightings, structures etc2.

the pros usually pinpoint the extension by scrambling the B&W photos, and creating their arts adjusting to their experienced minds. I still had a looonnngg way to achieve that tho haha.

for B&W freaks, this Lightroom extension is a MUST bebeh.

p.s. can't rant much, the blocks are chewing ma ass off @.@

The First Year

wow wow woooo time flies real fast. its just feel like yesterday, saying gudbye to Malaysia, flying on the plane from KLIA to Bangalore, arriving in Mangalore, breath the first air of India, getting my stato-acoustic nerve to tense up during the bus trip from the airport to our university.Feel the burning sensation of love from the suns, yes SUNS, because at that time i believe in india only there u can get xeroderma pigmentosum lol.

Attended the first dissection with Mr Venu Madhav, table 4. first time looking at the cadaver, touching the dead body, smelled the formalin, dissecting the skin and fascia, learnt my first muscle (Pectoralis Major, till now i still can remember the attachment, nerve and blood supply :D)

During that time, we always got pawned by Dr Ullas in his lecture classes, maybe that's why my first and second block i can managed quite well.The only class i ever attended late was his class becuase of overslept hehe, but still he give me attendance haha.

One thing i learnt about the girls in my class is that, they start having....uh...what do they call this? ah yes, "wild fantasies" about some lecturers hahahahha.the first lecturer who they oh-so-handsome-so-adorable is Dr Ayaz,well partly becuase he looks like Clark Kent, partly he's still young but he's a Doctor already.Mr Vivek(gold medallist in Biochem, taught by Dr Ullas too) is not half bad too, sadly he's in a relationship lol, anyway anyway that's in biochem department. for anat we have Mr Venu (there's a senior who cried when he got married, guess he's just that handsome lol), Mr Srinivasa (he's the gold medallist for anatomy and biochem during his studying year) and Mr Naveen Kumar (flawless skill with scalpel, good sense of humour). sadly in physio they're just not that popular haha.god, i really miss first and second block.

during third block, well lets just say that our batch reputation ain't that great.well lets jusy say that they make a storm out of coffee, maybe our batch is a little weee bit naughty, so yeah a lil bit of attitude changing maneuvers headed by our very own CR, some crap and shit talk, and it ends well.at least on the blocks paper, we can assume that the storm is subsided for a little while.

well, some of the matter managed to escape till block 4, but at least we showed improvement. btw, not that we're like a "fully grown-up people" and they expects us to exhibit by what they portrayed as a good doctor behaviour.ugghhh come on, we're still bunch of retarded teens, who still doesn't pass first year, can't expect us to remain docile and in proffesional mode all the time, can we?

well whatever, i'm in table 7 now during those 2 blocks, and let's just say we are awsome-er than any other table haha.shobana-ji, myronium, wuhuuu, aten gemop, cf, ah peng, deyyah, uda, cikpah, ah pook, wei han (+ kaiyun), izrulul,paulie, posh, adrian! damn, no more random names and questions, no more anat jokes, no more crushing the lecturer with questions huhu.damn, best tablemate i've had! and of course, we managed to make Dr Soma smile, and the only table to do so is us! yeeaayyy! that's legend...wait for it...dary! lol..

a last, one thing i can say for sure is that, i'm getting lazier and lazier throughout the blocks =.=

block 1 i was like studying my ass off, block 2 still can manage to get my butt to sit in front of books, and then the vacation came, went for south india tour, got back for third block and sumthin sumwhere during this block i got the LAZINESS bacteria.daaammmnn! still thnx to past year , my results not bad for third block, and the laziness started to spread in fourth block.

and let me tell you, among all the blocks u've learnt, to get lazy in block 4 is pure suicidal! come on, we learnt about Central Nervous system and Neuroanatomy! that was like the epitome of researchs by scientists, compiled into books and crap, and we learnt it by just theory.i was like damned, never study much, never bother bout how the things are, and as i've guessed it, my blocks suffered T.T oh how i wish i can turn back time, and bitchslap my previous self =(

well that's all in the past, now i'm focusing on university exam, the biggest exam i've yet to encounter in my sad 20 years of life.huhuhuhuhu its for another 3 weeks, and i was like WTF! need to cover 4 blocks in 3 weeks? die maaaa dieeee sob3.anyway anyway, no use whining now,

just focus ur goddamn energy, passed ur first year, and thank god for all the knowledge He bestowed upon you.

p.s. after unis we'll be going on a north indian tour! booyeah!

it had been,

a pleasure,

a great adventure

during my time in meds world.

i stumble a lot, i get up.

being push round and round by test,

bombarded questions in every corner possible by lecturers,

"see the structures!"

"I'm asking you this much question only"

"don't come if u don't read"

"the study of anatomy of human brain requires a brain, but sadly most of u had left it back in malaysia during vacation"

"where does the knowledge u acquired during block 1 and 2? guess it got drop in the ocean while ur in the plane back home"

these are the usuals that I heard again and again and again and again.

but all of these are the things that makes us strong till the later dates.

and for this, I thank u lecturers !

and my personal fav quote I got from a senior,

this year i've had ma super duper bombastic el fantastico NIKON D80!

nga3, technically its the first dslr i owned with ma own money.

previously Finepix FS9500 my sifu gave it to me (now he's using 5DMKII, cisss!)

got my own tripod, added 4 lens to my collection.

and learnt cross process technique from senior.

so yeah, my skills definitely increased this year.

next year maybe i've gonna go for semi-pro D300s

I tak tahu pasal masa depan I. I tak tahu berapa banyak duit yang I akan ada. So, dengan kata lain, I mungkin tak akan mampu kasi rumah 10 tingkat kat you. I juga mungkin tak mampu kasi you 10 emas intan berlian. Harap you tak kisah dengan diri I yang tak beharta ni. Tapi kalau setakat kasi you 20 hingga 30 anak tu, I okay je. Dalam tiga tahun, kita mungkin akan ada 2 anak. Tapi tu tak termasuk yang kembar tau.

Bila kita ada rumah nanti, I tak kisah kalau you nak bekerja. Tapi lagi bagus kalau you duduk je rumah jaga I. I bukan mintak di layan bagai raja. Tapi kalau I balik dari kerja tu, apa salahnya tanggalkan stokin I, urut bahu I, sediakan minum-minum I. Tapi kalau you tak nak buat, tak apa. I boleh tambah lagi 1 (cukup 2). Hmm. You tau, I tak mengharapkan yang you adalah gadis lemah lembut dan ikut semua kata I. Kalau you boyish sikit pun apa salahnya. Aggressive itu menarik. I harap you reti jaga diri sebelum jumpa I. Kalau boleh, jangan couple banyak-banyak. Tak pernah couple lagi bagus. Tapi kalau dah couple tu, jangan buat yang bukan-bukan dengan boyfriend you. lectures.exams.even play time.

its a frat race. like rancho said, everyone got suck up in the race.

its all in the system.whos' numero uno.who can identified this.who can mug up the best.

well that's life.and reality.even after u grads,

its all the same.

who can treat betters, earn betters.

its just the place is different, just in college u had lecturers who are kind enuff to show ur mistake.

outside, its a jungle.u wipe ur own ass.nobody's there to help you.

Today sure was a helluva tired one

first of all, the orientation of the juniors

we prepared hard and i think we make a pretty decent welcoming the juniors to manipal ^__^

eventho all of us had a bit of shortcoming here and there,

we're always got each others back.

my job's as usual, click here and there,

secondly is the Mooncake Festival!

never been one to before, so its nice to be invited tjis tyme ^__^

chinese batch 26 organised the event, and invited the freakin whole batch 26 to KMC Greens to celebrate the festival!

imagine eating super delicious mooncakes, while under the full moon and the sound of people having fun around us with the firecrackers!

for me, its totally refreshing and fun at the same too =)

as long as people is happy, i'm happy too, even the new juniors joined us,

so its a good icebreaker.unfortunately my cam's exhausted battery, won't hold for long,

only for a few shots, sob3, maybe its bcoz of the orientation before.

But we had fun, scratch that, the whole freakin batch had fun, eventho we had class test coming up, and also physio SDL tomorrow lol.

so i've got a few souvenirs, a green paper lantern and a mooncake =)

korang tau kan kalo score tinggi2 dlm arcade dpt tiket tukar barang, well mummy bedal semua tue, even my spongebob and doggy from the claw-thingy-machine!lol mummy! ur so stinnggyyy hahahahaha.and then we went for some kitchen hardware shoppim and window shoppim.well if ur in a mall, u woul'dve go to shops aite? kekke

and for the city of bangalore, even i hadn't satisfied adventuring around crooks and cranny, there was more than meets the eye, i felt this week just superficial, there's a more deep experience, given the tyme, that bangalore will showed me.

Bangalore, i called it the city of mystery, where things comes and goes, like the river flows,

resting here back in my hostel for a week before off to bangalore and mysore

after a grueling 12-hour bus ride, we managed to reach the destination safely ooo

the back-ache is just too much lor, grrr, this one is semi-sleeper, shud had the sleeper coach next tyme, its okeh, pengalaman2.at least we'll now know TO BUY TICKETS EARLY

coz in india train tickets are like anatomy, they vaporise easily (lol lawak medic)

furthermore, this bus drop us in the outskirts of chennai, aiyyoo bhaiyya, at least put us in city centre la, if we take trains, this shit shudn't happened in first place =.=

well "if" is a useless word in the dictionary of backpacking, esp in india!

so we had to take auto to get to our guest house in TTK Road, 300rps oo, so far this is the most expensive auto ride we've taken, but da terpakse la kan, there's no other transport in perimeter.

so neway,

we're going to charminar, laad bazar and mecca masjid for today.

at 10 we're on the move to charminar, the supposedly the city centre of hyderabad during its early years.from up there, we can see the stretch of view around the city nicely. supposedly there's a higher tower we can enter, but sadly its closed because before this there had been a suicidal case, man poor chap~

after much sightseeing, went to laad bazaar to buy bangles! bling2 wooo.

hasyum a.k.a hantu bangles suke la tue, and guess what we borong around 10 bangles!

u can see the bangles that we borong in the oics wuwuwu.

bought them for my mum and grandma in mesia,

and supposedly sumone in bangalore keke.okeh cite itu kite smbg next tyme okehhh.

after shoppim, went to mecca masjid to perform our solat jumaat.

the security pretty tight in here, with the bombing case in 2007 and all. even i had to leave my beloved D80 outside huhu, frustrated can't snap the pics in the masjid, its a grand view inside~

went back to hotel, packed things up for our bus that nyte~

ordered hyderabad biryani again this tyme, but only a packet, but its more than enuff to fill 4 stomachs already.chck our ayam kfc, still smells gooodd, so we just wallop the whole thing agaga.

beggars can't be choosers, aite? muahahaha

supposedly we want to go to Ramoji Film City, where bollywood action and shooting always done there.but its 28km from hyderabad, and tyme's getting shorter, so the trip had to be cancelled ooooo.a lil bit sad.wish we could go.nxt tyme okeehhh.

so yeah after a 12-hour train ride

we arrived safely around 10 a.m

first thing first

buy the train ticket leaving for chennai tomorrow! jeng3 guess what?

the ticket sold out!! oooooo

nice one.padan muke x beli tiket awal2 huhu.

so after much and much discussion,

we settled it by using the bus service.erk. u know roads in india.bumpyyy oooo.

then again salah siape beli tiket lewat2 doe.eeerrkkk.

at least there's the last minute tickets for us.dduurrr syukur laaa.

nxt thing, a place to lodge in. we find one nice budget hotel.the name's saiful hotel.1200 rps for 4 persons.looks like a bargain to me.the room has 2 double beds and attached bath with hot waters.gud enuff for me and me mateys.

settling down and fast, we got adventures to make harhar.

first of all

not a bad place this one.gave us jackets, gloves and boots.enuff protection from the frost bite.

ni mmg original punyer gum biryani hyderabad, not the celop malaysian one we get back at kedai mamak mesia okeeyyhh.and it stuffs lots of lots of rice.they say 2 people can finish one packet.LIE! its actually 4 people for one packet! mmg that nite bunchist abes laa, even there's left over biryani kitorang taruk utk sahur karang.

after bathing and performing solat,

halim wants to buy saree hyderabad, so shoppim le, pe lg.

and the local design i tell u sejibik mcm batik, so mlas nk beli, bwk blk mesia kene cop batik gak, but at least die murah,, dlm RM25 for 6 meters. murah kan kan?

i'm shopping for sarees nxt year only, when i'm going bck next hari raye muahaha. sorry mummy, u just had to wait a lil bit longer to get ur hands on this smoothy saree silk :D

halim bedal 2 kain chiffon, hasyum brape ntah, lupe lak, so the nxt thing after chcking the book is,,hard rox cafe! lmfao. mumbai da pegi da, skang hyderabad plak. but they're crazy for their t-shirts, and me for their pins, so all and all jln jugaakkk pegi hard rox yeehaaaa!

as usual, the hard rox employees are the very friendly, and one of them had korean face, unfortunately i don't bring my cam that tyme, so x sempat snap pics wuwuwu.

that night there's concert in there, sum Indian Ocean group was playing hindi rock or wateva,

the place is damn crowded, even we had a hard tyme just to get past the front door.

so yaeh i bought pins again gehaha, i'm just a pinhead, so bear wif me lol.

we finished our night by tapau-ing kfc, and goes back to hotel to slept like a log.

mind you, this is the first day of ramadhan afterall, so we are damn tired woooo.

been super busy lately with the backpacking!

haha so where were we? ah yes the city of heat and celebs, mumbai~

so we planned to go to one of india's super archeological site :

Elephanta Cave in Elephanta Island

(elephanta name came from the portuguese who saw the gigantic elephant sculpture at the entrance of the island)

so after we checked out of the hotel around 9 and thnx the pakciks who were kind to us during our stay, by a 10 minutes walk we got on the ferry and off we go!

the journey took an hour or so, we just chilled down and planned our activities

while spap tgh2 bincang, i caught a glance of a very cun minah salleh towards our group.

guess what, she's staring directly at spap wakakaka! not bad sparky, not bad! lucky she came with her parents, if not the 4 four bad boyz are just super willingly to guide her around keke.

so upon arriving, we had to take a few hundred steps to the cave!

omo why is all the temple is built in high place?? grr

with a 40 litres bag i start climbing the stairs, and i've kept thinking

"this is for the sake of adventure! goddamnit people! move it!"

but our usaha is not in vain

after paying the gruesome entrance ticket a.k.a 250rps

(wtf the locals only had to pay for 10rps only! grrrr)

we are super amazed super stoned looking at the carvings!

literally the 5-headed shiva! it is estimated 10 meters wide, 10 meters tall! fuyyyoohh!

just felt the urged to bow down to this remarkable workmanship.

felt like an indiana jones movie.literally the histological values here are damn SUPERB!

all and all the cave here is a site for the maharaja or the prince to come and meditate, train for the arts of war, find peace and salvation etc etc.the cave is also a sign of power and conqueror, as the main god here is shiva, which is the god of destroy.

(there's also other gods and goddess carved here such as parvati, shiva's consort)

so yeah we stayed for three hours, studying the caves in and out

(oops forget ta' mention there's 5 caves here)

we headed out into the sunlight, off to buy a few souvenirs

(me bought a mini hookah made from wood, niiicceee)

get to mainland, and rushed for the Victoria Terminus.

take a train here, went to Bandra West to meet the Malaysian Consulate Gen. of Mumbai

well well we just came out of nowhere! lol shocked him to the max

the general here is Mr. Wan Zaidi, and his vice is Mr.Kefli

there's also Puan Laila, Mr.Rosli and Puan Ieda that came and greets us.

after chatting for like an hour, eating laddus and kuih-muih malaysia (yeay!)

and having our prayers, Mr.Kefli invited us to his home.

oh yeah bcoz of the restricted site in consul no photography is allowed

okey back to story, before we went to his house for minum2 petang

we stop by kfc.yes people.kfc.kentucky fried chicken!muahaha.

been half a year okeh.who can resist, just by hearing the name made us grumble.keke.

after buying mega large siza chicken goreng, went to Mr.Kefli apartmen.

his wife greets us politely, serving us sunquick! malaysia sunquick! i've kept thinking of grabbing the whole bottle and kept it in my room! haha. so jakun la skarang ni.

and her kueh kasturi is so good, just when it touch our palette, it just melts off and delicious aroma flicks off.yeeoowww.

tyme really choked on us, so we said goodbye and off too our last place of the day,,,

Hard Rock Cafe MumBai! the absolute one place we had to had to HAD TO GO! nga3

so yeah we spent a lot there, from the shirts and pins, i myself spent quite sum money there, u know for my cousin and brother, they just gila hard rock pins wooo.

so buy them sum souvenirs laa keke.

on the way to the train station, bcoz of the short tyme, we just decided to eat kfc in the taxi.

haha what experience, ye la org india bwk teksi canne.our food is just terumbang-ambing je atas kaki asing2.lol.that was fun tymes, good tymes.in the furute we might do this again haha.

so yeah arrived safely here, wait a little for the train,

so agenda hr ini nk pegi Essel World ngan Water kingdom

so jln la kamek dlm kul 8.30 camtu pegi Borivali nek tren kt Victoria Terminus

pastu sambung lg pegi theme park naek ferry kt Gorai Jetty

oops lupe lak nak bgtau theme park ni kat atas pulau so satu2-nye care ni kene naek feri la

so the trip took 2 hours uugghh

malam sudey menjelma, apalagi, setan McD a.k.a spap pon menarik la kami ni kembali ke lembah Mcd beliau, muahahaha malam tu makan McD lagiiii, org McD tgk tu da siap geleng kapla da haha. after dinner yg penoh lazat dan memaksa cheilocystokinin kuar ke GIT, bley plak aih bantai shoppim skali lg. muahaha kalah pompuan, tapi xpe la, kt manipal xde dah mende2 alah nii. so tamat la hr kedua kt mumbai niiey.

and at night we went McD hunting! grrr. nmpk je tande McD tu first day kt bus stop mmg tak terkire la gembiranya, stended ar 6 bulan kot x mkn McD haha. on the way jenjalan tue, bley lak singgah shoppim kt nike, reebok, adidas dan sewaktu dengannye. 50% off dei, mmg x terbayang la gumbiranye, terutamanye si spap ni. kalo ikot hati mmg nk pulun 10 baju gamaknye.

sampai lak kt McD, sorang2 order maharaja set, large lak tue, haha muke masing2 mcm br lepas hajat, mkn x hingat dunia la kot. jd kitorang akhiri mlm tue ngan kire2 dr akauntan kite lar. esok lak nk chow ke Borivali, maen theme park kt Essel World.

see y'all in a month's time

where we gladly become first-year seniors

more matured and brainy

compared to the first tyme we said hi to each other

6 month's aback

and i will pray that

all of us can say hi to each other again

this coming august with a warm fuzzy feeling

like we always do at 8a.m in the dissection hall
